I thought I'd take the opportunity to post some personal stuff here for those of you that have managed to wander into this Internet backwater.
I've been fortunate enough to make a few good friends in this life. Pictured above are some of the best. From left to right they are Mike, Taras, myself and Barry. We lost Mike to cancer last year. Mike endured tremendous pain in his battle against this terrible disease, including surgery that cost him one of his eyes. Yet he never lost his sense of humor. It was his idea to take this picture, with the rest of us wearing Mike's eye patches. The result was a rather disreputable group of pirates. Mike just wanted to aggravate our boss. You gotta love him.
Speaking of friends, my buddy Taras is a really friendly guy. We went down to Wildwood, NJ, a few years ago, and it wasn't long at all before Tar had more friends than he knew what to do with.
Then there's this guy, Uncle Dougy. He's also very friendly, and dresses rather nice, too.
If you happen to see him down at Big Tony's in New Haven, buy him a Scotch and ask him to tell you about the black snakes. Whatever you do, though, don't ask him for advice on your bowling.
My buddy Jerry isn't just a great friend, he's also a gifted story teller. In fact, he's been known to keep his audience on the edge of their seats...
...well, maybe my buddy Paul had already heard that one before.
